Art-n-Soulful Sunday: The B.M.A.
One of my favorite museums in Baltimore, The Baltimore Museum of Art hosts some of the richest historical artifacts and some of the most intriguing modern and contemporary pieces. The museum tour starts off with Arts of Africa, Americas and The Pacific Islands. Pieces include traditional wear, paintings, sculptures, and artifacts of everyday life. Next up, Arts of Asia, European Decorative Arts, Miniature Rooms (model of rooms from different time periods, size equivalent to doll houses, in an glass enclosure. Kids will love this!), American Decorative Arts (Art for the Interior Decorator, home decor lover) and the Garden Room. Currently outside of the Garden Room is The Clone Collection. The upper levels of the museum house Modern Art, American Period Rooms, American Painting, Antioch Mosaics, European Painting and Scultpure, Texiles, and Contemporary Art.
FAVORITE PIECE: Paul Gauguin (French) Vahine no te vi (Woman of the Mango) 1892, oil canvas (PICTURED ABOVE)
FAVORITE ROOM/EXHIBIT: Guyton/Walker Untitled 2008-2010, ink, parraffin, wood laminate, inkjet print on drywall (SEE MORE PHOTOS)
